In Search of Victory part-15

 27th November 1979,

Dear Diary,

                    I, Grand Ayatollah Ruholla Musavi Khomeini, the supreme leader of Iran, believe in the future of Iran after it was restored to the cultural and religious traditions of its people following the culmination of the Revolution. I believe that the only way to safeguard the people of Iran is to let them embrace their own culture, religion and traditions and to decry the corrupting practices of the West. We must identify and form alliances with those who identify with our goals and be wary of those who don't. We must overthrow the Zionists in Israel and restore the Palestinians their rights. I have already given orders not to recognize Israel as a state and to oppose the imperialism of the Zionists in the Middle East. The Zionists are already showing their imperialism against Lebanon whom they hope to cow down and to defeat the Palestine Liberation Organization that is located in the country. Therefore we must be prepared for any eventuality and must therefore create like-minded groups who will work against the Zionists and will be coherent to our interests.

    We must also be wary of Iraq, where a tiny minority rules over a vast majority and Saddam Hussein, the dictator of Iraq often is tyrannical over this majority. Minority rule in Iraq must cease and it must embrace the religious and cultural traditions of its people. Saddam Hussein is also a puppet of Saudi Arabia who practically rules Iraq by proxy. Therefore we must intervene in Iraq to ensure that the Iraqis have their freedom.

    But we must remember that our main enemies lie in the West. The corrupt and imperialist West tried to decide the future of Iran many times, The Iranians must assert their own identity and must stay true to their own culture. They must not fall prey to Western corruption. Already we have taken the fight to the West by storming the American Embassy and taking their diplomats hostage and thwarting President Carter's plan to evacuate their diplomats. We know that the West wants to use us for our rich natural resources and therefore attempts to corrupt us. But we must resist those attempts and must stay true to our own culture.

    We must also be aware of the communist world and not take support from them or fall prey to their propaganda or take their support as although they are enemies of the West, they are still against our culture. We must remember that only the Iranian people have the right to decide their own future with their own culture and traditions. Long live Iran!
